My name is Neil Smith and I am from Chester-le-Street Co. Durham.

I started having a serious interest in photography from around 2000 when I purchased my first 35mm SLR. When I moved into the digital age my first DSLR was a Nikon D50, during the years that I had this camera I owned various lenses for it. These started off with the Nikon standard lens and then 70-200mm and also a Sigma 150-500mm f5-6.3 (which I no longer use). I did replace the standard 18-70mm with a new lens, Sigma 18-250mm. I have now upgraded my camera to a Nikon D7000 and I am extremely happy with its performance.

I have always enjoyed photographing landscapes and historic buildings such as castles but recently, since November 2012, I have started taking a bigger interest in sports photography and indeed I have been to several football matches taking photos.

Although, I have started with football I do plan, if not the near future then somewhere down the line, to expand into other sports e.g. Cricket, golf or even motor racing.

At present (23/08/2015) I am an official club photographer for Gateshead FC the team photographer for Chester-le-Street Town FC and I have occasionally attended Chester-le-Street Cricket Club matches.
